Polychrome and dyed fiberglass and resin with mixed media
at play juxtaposes the extreme artifice
of nature against the unadorned concrete urban environment of
the enclosed courtyard. The wallflowers ornamented with convex
mirrors bring the sky down and into the courtyard uniting the
natural at the interface of the manmade. at play suggests
both a play on and with nature. As Jonathan Goodman wrote in his
review in Sculpture Magazine "Her point is well made -- so
much of the contemporary experience of nature is ersatz that it
makes sense to build on an artificial world. One that comments
on our desire for natural beauty even as it complicates our relation
to that desire."
